Spotlight on: Humilladero
The village of Humilladero dates back to its founding in 1618 and owes its heritage to agriculture, being a fairly flat land full of fertile fields covered with olive trees and cereal crops. The village is a place of quiet tranquility and lays at the foot of the Humilladero mountain range.
Don Ferdinand is reputed to have knelt down and kissed the sword, promising that it would not be returned to its sheath until Antequera had fallen under Christian control; his knights, also kneeling on the ground, swore this same oath.
The town is small and welcoming where you will find many bars, restaurants and shops.
